Warriors new stadium will be built in Mission Bay, waterfront plans scrapped!

The San Francisco Waterfront Alliance just announced that the Golden State Warriors are moving to Mission Bay & scrapping plans to build a new area on the waterfront by piers 30-32 & Seawall.

The proposed Golden State Warriors developments calls for building a 12-story high basketball & entertainment complex, a 175 feet high luxury condo tower and a hotel, a 500 space private parking garage, and a 90,000 feet shopping mall of retail and restaurants. Most of it was to be built not just by our waterfront – but on the Bay!  It also calls for a $120 million in San Francisco public funds and there is no plan to address public transit, vehicle traffic and congestion, according to the SFWA website, the SFWA are a coalition of local community advocates whom are opposed to the project.
