Man shot in foot on lower Polk.

A tourist visiting San Francisco was shot in the foot early Sunday morning while he and his wife were walking near Polk and Ellis streets in the city’s Tenderloin area.

 

 The shooting occurred, at 10:15 a.m., followed a heated argument between two other people, the victim was walking with his wife and was not involved in the altercation., police said. The gunshot victim, identified only as a man in his 30s, heard yelling, followed by a gunshot at which point he then realized that he had been shot in the leg.

According to Sgt. Danielle Newman, it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

 The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment with non life-threatening injuries.

Officers detained a woman in connection with the shooting and she may face attempted homicide charges. Her identity was not released Sunday afternoon.
