Where to watch the Warriors in the Mission, Barrel Proof.

It goes with out saying, your local bar is the place to be when our Warriors are playing in the NBA Finals, not to mention the fact they are playing the Cav’s. The Atmosphere is so much better when your with fellow Warrior fans.

Game one was off the hook, those of you who ventured out last night saw an OT game which was as close as we’d like it to be, ultimately our Warriors won in overtime but not without some end of game Shenanigans. The Cleveland Cavaliers could be without two of their starters for Game two of the NBA Finals on Sunday, due to an altercation at the end of Thursday nights game. Tristan Thompson might face a suspension after shoving the ball in the face of Draymond Green in the closing seconds of Game one on Thursday night after he (Thompson) was already ejected.

I ventured to a new bar & restaurant in the Mission, Barrel Proof, boasting 30 Hi-def TV’s, I wanted to eat while watching the game. I should have got there a little earlier, this venue was already packed. I guess the secret is out. I have to say, knowing the bar scene in San Francisco pretty well, a lot of bars were not as busy as this one was pre-game.  I ordered my food as soon as I got to the bar & even though it was Hella busy I did get my Poke Bowl & their amaze balls (Something one of my good friends says) Wings pretty dam quicker than I thought I would, I loved the fact there are NO servers, instead they give you a buzzer & when it goes off you collect your food at the bar, I was not disappointed, seriously the Wings would rival San Tungs. My friends arrived shortly there after.

As I said many more Warrior fans had the same idea, this place serves pizza & many fans were cowing down on one of the house specials.

It looks like the Mission finally has a great venue to watch your favorite team in action, I can’t wait for football season, not to mention the fact that the World cup is around the corner.

But back to our Warriors, you know that feeling you get when your in a Native bar, when its full of actual Fans, be it Giants, Niners or Sharks Fans, this place had that last night, for a new venue they certainly done their homework. The atmosphere & the food were just what the Doctor ordered for last night’s game, as was the game, we came from behind, level the score at full time & beat the Cav’s on OT, who doesn’t like a game like that. Barrel Proof is run by the folks who operate the famous SF joint Blackthorn one of the premier bars to watch sports in the Inner Sunset & also Cabin on Polk Street which is why I ventured here in the first place.

I recommend getting here early to get a table or even just a seat, oh and in case your unaware they have 10 TV’s upstairs in the gaming & VIP sections which are open to the public during major game days.

Go Warriors!
