3rd Annual Polk Street Blues Festival – 2012

Blues on Polk Street

The third annual Polk Street Blues Festival kicked off this morning (Sat 29th 2012) and its looking like another huge success, San Francisco is basking in sunshine today, I was kinda worried it may be overcast like yesterday. The streets are full of very happy revelers sitting on the fake grass in front of the two stages either end of the festival. The event is organized by the folks behind the Fillmore Jazz Festival

The Festival also features a merchant marketplace, arts and crafts, gourmet food booths, a large family area, cafe seating areas, and much more. There are some nice buys from art pieces, clothing, jewery and the SFPD have a booth with two young PAL cadets selling SFPD and SFFD merchandise, I picked up one of the new SF Giants SFPD baseball caps. Purchases go to a good cause. There is also a Americas Cup stall, worth checking out.

Check out some of the pictures below, or better yet, its a beautiful day, why not join us on Polk street, the festivities don’t end until 6pm. If you still can’t make it today, there will be an encore on Sunday as this is a two day event and its the only free blues festival in SF.
